The new Cayman GT4 is the first Porsche GT sports car based on the Cayman.  The Cayman GT4
features components from the 911 GT3, so we already know it’s going to be good.

Everybody knows that the Cayman has the perfect mid-engine layout that is so essential in high
performance sports cars, but we all feel that Porsche is holding back the Cayman; making sure is not
faster than its big brother, the rear-engine 911.

With the Cayman GT4, Porsche Motorsports has upgraded the engine, chassis, brakes, and
aerodynamic design for maximum driving dynamics.  The car is now powered by the 385 hp 3.8-liter flat-
six engine from the 911 Carrera S, and best of all its only available with a six-speed manual transmission!
Thank you Porsche for that! The GT4 is capable of 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds and has a top speed of 183

The most exciting part is the modifications to the chassis and brake system, consisting almost entirely of
components from the 911 GT3. A lower ride height, big brakes, aggressive new front end and a large
fixed rear wing lets you know you are in a Porsche GT sports car. Available options include the Porsche
Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system, full bucket seats made of carbon fiber composite, and a
custom Sport Chrono Package featuring a Track Precision app.

The Cayman GT4 lapped the North Loop of the Nürburgring in 7 minutes and 40 seconds, the same lap
time as the 2011 911 GT3.  The car will have its world premiere at the Geneva International Motor Show
and will go on sale in July 2015 with a starting MSRP of $84,600.
Porsche is finally giving us the mid-engine
sports car we have been craving…sort of.
