All-new 2016 Honda Civic unveiled at NYIAS
Honda debuted at New York International Auto Show the all-new 10th generation Civic
Concept. The car is an all-new platform with new styling and new powertrains. The new
Civic has a more aggressive personality and a more athletic appearance. It has a wider
stance, longer hood, a shorter front overhang and a shorter rear deck. Honda calls it
an “epic Civic” saying “is the most dynamic, the most technologically advanced and the
most refined and stylish Civic we've ever made”
The Civic line up will include a Sedan, Coupe, Si models, hatchback and Type R. The
Civic hatchback will return to America and for the first time ever, the Civic Type R will
come to the U.S.
With over nine million Civics built and sold in USA, it makes sense that the 10th
generation Civic has been design and developed in America (Designed in their LA
studio and developed and engineered in Ohio). The Civic Sedan, Coupe and Si
models will also be built in North America along with the power trains.
The core Values of the Honda Civic have always been fuel efficiency and fun-to-drive
performance. To stay true to its core values, Honda will offer the new 1.5-liter VTEC
Turbo engine with direct injection and a short-shifting 6-speed manual transmission or
a more sporty and efficient CVT.
Expect the 2016 Honda Civic Sedan to go on sale by fall later this year followed by the
coupe, hatchback, Si and Type R models.
