1000PS McLaren P1 GTR will debut at Geneva
The highly anticipated McLaren P1 GTR race car will finally debut at Geneva.  First
shown at Pebble Beach, the race car has gone intensive testing and is ready for its
official debut. The final track version of the McLaren P1 Hypercar has 10 percent more
downforce than the P1 road car and its 50kg (110lbs) lighter thanks to lightweight
components and motorsports technologies.

The P1 GTR is powered by a highly revised and modified version of the 3.8-liter
twin-turbo V8 engine with an enhance electric motor. Both power plants have been
revised for optimum performance on track and when combined they produced 1,000PS
(986bhp); 789bhp from the gasoline engine and 197bhp from the electric motor.

The P1 that will debut at Geneva next month will have a livery design to homage the
yellow and green McLaren F1 GTR, chassis #06R, which  was one of five F1 GTRs that
dominated the 24 Hours of Le Mans 20 years ago.
