Sixth-Generation Camaro reveled
The current generation Chevrolet Camaro has been a leader in the sporty car segment
for the past five years and the all-new 2016 Camaro is here to keep it that way.

The new Camaro offers higher levels of performance along with more technology and
refinement. The vehicle mass has been reduced by over 200 pounds thanks to its
smaller dimensions and a lighter and stiffer platform.  There are now six all-new
powertrain combinations offered, including a 2.0 Turbo, an all-new 3.6L V6 and the LT1
6.2L V8 out of the new Corvette Stingray, for the most powerful Camaro SS ever. All
engines are available with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic
transmission.

The lighter and stiffer platform creates a more nimble and a more responsive driving
experience while greatly improving all-around performance such as acceleration,
handling and fuel economy.

The 2.0L turbo engine makes it the most efficient Camaro ever delivering more than 30
mpg on the highway.  The cars equipped with the turbo engine will produce 275 hp
(205 kW) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) allowing the car to sprint from 0-60 mph in under 6
seconds.

The 3.6L V6 features direct injection, continuously variable valve timing and for the first
time Active Fuel Management, commonly known as cylinder deactivation for improved
fuel economy.  The V6 will produce 335 hp (250 kW) and 284 lb-ft of torque (385 Nm).

The top of the line Camaro at launch will be the Camaro SS - the most powerful Camaro
SS ever.  The SS will be equipped with the 6.2L LT1 direct-injected Small Block V8 that
produces 455 hp (339 kW) and 455 lb-ft of torque (617 Nm). The Magnetic Ride
Control will be available for the first time on the Camaro SS. This active suspension
reads road and driving conditions 1,000 times per second, and automatically adjusts
the damper settings for optimized control and comfort. This was previously limited only
to the ZL1 Camaro.  The SS will also come standard with Brembo Brakes.

The 2016 Camaro will go on sale later this year.
